Note on inks for self-inkers:

• Self-inkers works best with porous inks (for uncoated paper, corrugated, kraft bags, etc.) that dry by absorption
• If you require a non-porous ink (for marking metals, plastic, etc.), choose your ink carefully. Non-porous inks dry by evaporation and will dry in the ink pad more quickly because the ink pad is continuously exposed to the air. Slower drying inks are the best choice. Pad maintenance and more frequent pad replacement are necessary with non-porous inks.
