Foam pads hold a lot of ink and are often used when printing large, bold characters for coarse marking. Foam tends to transfer more ink to the rubber for printing. Foam stamp pads are not recommended for fine imprints or for use with quick-dry non-porous inks. All foam pads come un-inked.
